How to Make Orange Jam at Home

About Orange Jam:

Orange jam is one of the most lovable citrus fruits jam made with orange juice, sugar, and lemon juice.  Orange jam is basically an orange marmalade, which is made without orange peel.  Orange jam is super-delicious and can be enjoyed with bread toast or with dessert.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of freshly squeezed orange juice.
  • 1 cup of sugar or to taste.
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice.

Note:  You may increase or decrease the quantity of ingredients depending on your taste and for how many people you are making for.

Method of Making Orange Jam:

  1.  Take a kadai or a saucepan and pour the freshly squeezed orange juice.
  2.  Turn on the flame and let the juice come to a boil on a high flame.
  3.  When the orange juice comes to a boil, lower the flame and simmer the juice for 10 minutes by stirring occasionally.
  4.  After 10 minutes, add sugar and lemon juice and mix well until sugar dissolves completely.
  5.  Boil the mixture on a medium flame for 20-30 minutes or until the mixture comes to a thick flowing consistency by stirring every 1-2 minutes, it would not be so thick as when the mixture cools down it will become thick like jam.
  6.  Turn off the flame and let the orange mixture to come to room temperature.
  7.  When the orange mixture comes to room temperature, take a sterilized airtight glass jar and transfer the orange mixture in the room temperature into the glass jar.
  8.  Keep the cap open and let the orange mixture to cool down completely and then put the lid on and store the orange jam in the refrigerator and it stays well over 6 months to 1 year in the refrigerator
  9.  Enjoy this orange jam with toast or with dessert.
